Disadvantage:

You should only use them when you have already left the location because people could go to the location and kidnap you or stalk you

It is secure because every person has a characteristic that is unique to them. nobody has the exact same characteristics as you so the device scans for those unique characteristics

Your physical features are permanent so if someone takes you picture or fingerprint you can't change your biometric data for security.
